LRMA PRESIDENT'S REVIEW OF THE JUPITER SPORTS ENGRAVER
During a visit to the Golf Industry Show in Anaheim, California I was able to see this engraver (model SE-46) in action. I priced these out several years ago, and like many such high-tech products, the cost has come down considerably. In short, this product is a smart buy and can save a club thousands of dollars.
After meeting Bill Mackay and expressing interest in the engraver for locker room managers who'd like to save thousands of dollars by engraving their own locker nameplates, Mr. Mackay had me pick out a bag tag, dropped it in one of the plastic holders or molds, put it in the machine and engraved my daughter's name on it quickly and easily. In fact the machine can be operated easily via software on a lap top computer and is better than whisper quiet, making no discernible noise as it engraved on the tag. In a matter of seconds the tag was done and the engraving was as good as any jeweler or trophy shop could turn out.
Friends of mine that were also attending the Golf Industry Show also had bag tags done with the same excellent results. In short, I highly recommend this engraver, especially for those clubs that are brand new. Rather than having to pay a fortune and send out for all of their member locker nameplates for $20-$30 each (multiply that by 800, then consider that you can buy the engraver for less than $5,000, plates for a fraction of that and engrave them yourself and the savings will easily be in the thousands of dollars).
Please note that that the engraver also has a number of other uses, including engraving employee names on name tags, business card holders, etc. If you do purchase one, BE SURE AND TELL THEM YOU ARE A MEMBER OF THE LRMA AND THEY'LL TAKE EXCELLENT CARE OF YOU.
