The Top 5 Ways to Improve Your Locker Rooms
#5. HIRE CANDIDATES THAT "GET IT."
Unless you are running your locker rooms single-handedly, you must have staffers that "get it."
What's there to "get"?
Examples:
a.) It's the members' world, we just live in it.
b.) I.e., the job, in it's most basic form, is all about service, serving and having a servant attitude.
c.) Staffers answer to the locker room manager as their supervisor, but to bottom
line it: we all have 100-1,200 bosses—our members.
d.) The relationship between the manager/attendants and members is to be kept
professional at all times: "sir," "Certainly, Mr./Mrs. ___________," "right away,
ma'am" are acceptable, "Yeah," "uh huh," "Hi guys" and using member
nicknames (used by other members) are not.
e.) NO doing business deals with members or their guests, period. Members are at
your club to do business with other members, NOT with staff. If any potential
locker room staffer doesn't agree with these examples, do NOT hire him/her or let
the person(s) go.
